Suction system for forklift charging station [DEGASSING]
Sector of use of plants for forklift charging station DEGASSING
GGE srl’s degassing plants are designed to extract the hydrogen that is released during the recharging of electric batteries, limiting the possibility of a potentially explosive atmosphere being formed in the dedicated facilities.
Particularly in rooms where forklift reloading operations are carried out, the danger of explosion is due to the emission into the environment of hydrogen, which is released as a result of the electrolysis of water.
Technical features of plants for forklift charging station DEGASSING
- Systems with direct gas suction through special battery caps equipped with two sockets: one traditional for topping up and one for suction of the gases that are generated
- Much less “invasive” system compared to traditional ventilation systems with hoods or extraction arms
- Energy savings in electricity and heating consumption as the air moved is much lower than traditional systems
- Very small pipes and fans by virtue of the very little air needed to maintain adequate depression inside the coils
- Probe that acts as an interlock for the stations, preventing the batteries from being charged in the event of no suction
- It is not necessary to set up a charging area outside the building, where forklifts, very expensive machinery, would be subjected to the action of atmospheric agents
