Dust extraction from battery production in Bologna
GGE designed and built an extraction and dedusting system for the battery production line of a well-known multinational company with headquarters in Bologna.
The extraction system is certified Atex Ex II 3D for Zone 22 and it’s equipped with a software for data and alarm transmission according to Industry 4.0 standards.
The machine consists of a centrifugal fan with an air flow rate of 2,000 m³/h, an antistatic cartridge dust collector model Finpol F DT 3 with a filtering surface area of 61.5 m² and a class H13 absolute filtration final stage. For the cleaning of the filtering cartridges, a control unit has been installed on the dust collector to manage counter-current cleaning by jets of compressed air. The polluting dust, filtered by the dust collector, is collected in the bucket below by means of a rotary valve.
The extraction system is equipped with an explosion-proof panel, a primary safety device that ensures less propagation of flame, pressure or heat in the event of an explosion in an enclosed environment, and a carbon steel explosion isolation valve, designed to prevent the propagation of any explosions in the suction lines.
To manage the start-up and shutdown of the system, there is an electrical control panel with inverter. The control panel is equipped with a touch screen HMI panel, PLC and a software for the transmission of operating data and alarms via Modbus TCP/IP protocol.
